This was the first outfit I made. I wanted to create a youthful image. I really like checks. Combining all these checks creates a very busy, yet soothing outfit. It's funky and playful.
I started by sketching a plaid jacket with a nice collar and a belt. The jacket was supposed to be blue, but once I got to the fabric store, I had a hard time choosing and decided to buy all the fabrics and combine them.
I had no sewing experience at all at the beginning of the first year, but decided to go for it right away and adapt and make a pattern. I have a love for coats, so I wanted to start with that right away. This turned out to be more difficult than expected, but I am very proud of the result. I like to go for something, giving up is not an option.
Second Sketch
I made a video to show this outfit in a playful way. I had a little experience with video editing, and I want to get better at it. I wanted to display the dynamic outfit dynamically and playfully, this can be best seen with a video. This was a good experiment to practice editing videos.
Before I started filming the video, I wanted to make some atmospheric collages for myself. In the collages a lot happens at the same time and with multiple layers. I like to make a creative inspiration image for myself in advance. The playfulness returns.
